about

Yo.

These are the original blends from the Ghostface Meets MF DOOM mixtape I made in 2003.

For some quick history, in 2003 I created a mixtape that mashed up Ghostface raps over MF DOOM beats (he was still Metal Fingerz back then and hadn't blown up or worked with mainstream artists yet), and DOOM rapping over Rza/Wu-Tang beats. The mixtape was called Ghostface Meets MF DOOM - Operation: Ironman. While it was made just for fun (and because I thought the 2 complimented each other really well), I had no idea that Tony Starks, various Wu members and the Supervillain would end up working together years later, making hip-hop history and classic music together.

A lot of the tracks on the mixtape were normal tracks, but there were several blends that I made that are unique remixes/blends. There was also a 2nd disc titled "Wu-Tang Smokes Herbal Blends", which features various Wu members over Special Herbs (MF DOOM beats) that I blended myself.

There was no artwork for the cover at the time, just a crude mixtape put together as a big fan of both MF and Ghost. I never sold the tape or intended to profit from it, and just shared it online with fans of that raw hip-hop.

Tracks 1-6 are the 6 original blends from the first disc of the mixtape. Tracks 7-13 are the original blends from the 2nd disc of Herbal Blends.

As far as I know, this mixtape was also the first time DOOM/Wu were heard together on the same album. Enjoy a little bit of Llama history and hopefully there are some interesting tracks to check out here.

Peace!
